For a colleague. The lettering is a lot straighter in person. I’m really very happy with how this came out; I had to use a jeweller’s loupe for the tiny cross-stitch in the caption. I’m starting a short Soviet embroidery series – next up is Yuri Gagarin then Sputnik. I think I will be embroideried-out for a while after that.

This time it’ the ditty bag from Hervey Garrett Smith’s The Marlinspike Sailor. Not super-authentic, but quick. I am happy with the lanyard, which uses a pencil stub as a core and is made from seine twine.
